Wild Mouse Goes Through “Rehab” After Eating Cannabis Plant

A Mouse Gets “Stoned” in a Cannabis Field

In New Brunswick, Canada, a mouse was found “stoned” after stealing and eating cannabis leaves. Colin Sullivan, the farmer who discovered the mouse, caught it nibbling leaves before passing out on a pile of them. He jokingly referred to the rodent as a “pothead” on Facebook.

Sullivan placed the mouse in a cage for a six-day “detox.” During this time, he weaned it down to one leaf per day. Once the mouse fully recovered, Sullivan released it, sharing humorous updates and puns about the rodent’s “rehab journey.”

The posts went viral, garnering hundreds of thousands of shares and comments from amused readers. Many praised Sullivan’s care for the mouse and his humorous storytelling.

Cannabis Laws in New Brunswick

Cannabis has been legal in Canada since 2018. In New Brunswick, individuals aged 19 or older can possess up to 30 grams and buy from licensed retailers. Public consumption and use in vehicles are prohibited, while landlords can restrict smoking or growing cannabis.
