Trump AG Nom Pam Bondi Unloads on Adam Schiff During Confirmation Hearing

Pam Bondi Clashes with Sen. Adam Schiff in Fiery Confirmation Hearing

During her Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing for Attorney General, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi sparred with Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) over potential pardons President-elect Donald Trump might grant, including those for individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol riot.

Schiff pressed Bondi to commit to opposing blanket pardons, asking, “Will you review these cases individually and advise the President against blanket pardons?” Bondi responded, “I will review any files I am asked to,” adding she hadn’t yet reviewed the cases.

When Schiff questioned her capacity to handle hundreds of cases, Bondi fired back, accusing him of reckless comments and referencing his 2022 congressional censure. “You were censured for comments just like this,” she said.

The exchange escalated when Schiff brought up a GOP-led investigation into former Rep. Liz Cheney, alleging she improperly communicated with a Jan. 6 witness. Bondi dismissed the inquiry as hypothetical, pivoting to criticize California’s high crime rates. “Robberies in California are 87% higher than the national average. That’s what I want to focus on as Attorney General,” she said.

The hearing highlighted deep partisan tensions and Bondi’s sharp defense of her priorities.
