Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s Monday evening event at the City University of New York was interrupted multiple times by hecklers. They called her a “war criminal” and a “sad old drunk,” criticizing her foreign policy decisions and alleged corruption. One heckler condemned her involvement in the Iraq War, accusing her of lying about weapons of mass destruction and causing suffering in Afghanistan. Another heckler called her a “warmonger” and demanded answers about her role in the Nord Stream pipeline destruction.
Despite the disruptions, Pelosi continued her conversation with Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman. CUNY described the event as a discussion with Pelosi, who served as Speaker of the House for nearly two decades and played a key role in major legislation like the Affordable Care Act and the American Rescue Plan.
