JUST IN: Top GOP Senators Put Jack Smith On Notice In Warning To DOJ

GOP Senators Demand Record Preservation in Trump Investigations

Top Republican senators have urged Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and Special Counsel Jack Smith to preserve all records related to investigations into former President Donald Trump. Their letter raises concerns about political bias and improper handling of federal records.

Citing past incidents, the senators highlighted allegations of data deletions during the Mueller probe into Russian election interference and record destruction during the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s classified email use. They also accused former FBI official Timothy Thibault of anti-Trump bias and Hatch Act violations.

The senators emphasized the importance of maintaining records to ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness in politically sensitive cases.
