Burger King Is Closing Hundreds of Locations, Not Shutting Down Completely

Despite rumors, Burger King isn’t shutting down entirely. Instead, it plans to close around 400 underperforming locations while modernizing the rest through a $400 million rebranding campaign called “Reclaim the Flame.”

The initiative aims to revamp 3,000 restaurants by 2026, focusing on technology upgrades, kitchen improvements, and physical renovations. Changes like three-lane drive-thrus and enhanced delivery systems will improve the customer experience and help Burger King stay competitive with rivals like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Five Guys, and Shake Shack.

Early results show promising signs of increased profitability.
