Ellen DeGeneres, the Emmy-winning comedian and former talk show host, has officially left the United States for good. She recently sold her $46 million Montecito mansion and moved to the English countryside, settling in a peaceful Cotswolds village.

Ellen’s decision follows the end of The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022, which faced workplace misconduct allegations. Though she denied many claims, they impacted her public image. Seeking a quieter life, she and wife Portia de Rossi have distanced themselves from American celebrity culture.

Explaining her move, Ellen stated, “America no longer feels like home. The environment has become too toxic, both socially and politically.” While some support her decision, others argue she’s avoiding controversy.
Despite the relocation, Ellen is not retiring. Rumors suggest she’s exploring new creative projects, possibly documentaries or talk shows with a serious focus. A close source shared, “This is not a retirement, it’s a reinvention.”
