I Found Out I’m Not My Son’s Biological Mom, and Now I’m Leaving My Husband

A 27-year-old woman shared the shocking moment she found out the child she’s raised for the last 3 years isn’t hers. She plans to divorce her husband after discovering the truth but feels torn about leaving her son. She wrote us a letter with all the details and is asking for advice on what to do next.

Martha and David found love in college.

Martha, 27, is heartbroken and feels lost. She’s looking for answers and wrote a letter explaining her situation, hoping for help. She wants to warn other women who might be in the same position.

Martha says her love life was perfect at first. “I met David (30) in college. I had a crush on him, and he liked me too. We’ve been together ever since. About 6 years ago, we decided we wanted to start a family.”

She found out she couldn’t have kids.

After trying for years, they saw a doctor who told her she couldn’t have children. She was devastated.

The couple decided to try surrogacy.

“My husband tried to comfort me and suggested adoption, but I wanted my own child. Then I thought about surrogacy. David agreed but hesitated because it was expensive. My cousin Amy offered to be our surrogate to help with the costs, and I was so grateful,” Martha explains.

Eventually, Amy got pregnant. Three years ago, Martha and David had their son through surrogacy, and they named him George. Martha adored him, and Amy often visited to see George and help out.

But a few days ago, George got sick, and Martha took him to the doctor. His blood work showed Martha wasn’t his biological mom. She thought it was a mistake, but her husband confessed that he had an affair with her cousin Amy during the IVF process. George was the result of that affair.

Martha immediately kicked David out and felt deeply hurt and betrayed.

Now, she’s filing for divorce but doesn’t know how to deal with her feelings toward George. She still loves him but struggles with the reminder of the betrayal every time she looks at him. Martha is seeking advice on what she should do next.
