Hilarious Snow Day News from a School Leaves the Internet Smiling

As winter arrives, snow days are common in northern regions, and many schools create fun videos or songs to announce them. Swartz Creek Community Schools in Michigan put a unique spin on this trend, with their video gaining over a million views on YouTube.

In the video, Superintendent Ben Mainka and Principal Jim Kitchen, dressed in school gear, deliver an important message. Mainka begins by criticizing the trend of superintendents making silly snow day announcements. However, he is interrupted by the piano intro of “Hallelujah,” and both men, initially confused, end up singing along.

Principal Kitchen stops Mainka from singing, insisting they won’t embarrass themselves with a snow day song. Despite this, they continue the announcement in unison, urging students to stay warm, enjoy the day, and be responsible—especially by not sleeping in too late.

Their humorous and impressive performance made for a memorable snow day announcement.
