**Massapequa Community Mourns Tragic Loss of High School Senior Connor Kasin**

Connor Kasin, a 17-year-old senior at Massapequa High School, tragically passed away after collapsing on the ice during a break in a charity hockey game in New York. Despite immediate medical attention, including CPR from police and paramedics, Connor could not be saved, leaving his family, friends, and community in shock.

The game was held in memory of Sabrina Navaretta, a Syosset High School graduate who died in a car accident in 2023. Connor’s sudden medical event during the game left the community heartbroken. While the cause of death has not been disclosed, authorities have ruled out any criminal involvement.

William Brennan, superintendent of Massapequa Public Schools, described Connor as a kind, positive, and enthusiastic member of the school community. Counseling services have been made available to support students, staff, and families during this difficult time.

Sabrina Navaretta’s family also extended their condolences, encouraging Connor’s loved ones to grieve and care for themselves. The Massapequa community has rallied together, offering support and honoring Connor’s memory, ensuring his positive spirit will not be forgotten.
