We’ve lost a legend

Georgina Cooper, the beloved 1990s supermodel known for her iconic gap-toothed smile, tragically passed away at 46 during her honeymoon in Greece.

Her death was confirmed by friends Jade Parfitt and Erin O’Connor on November 8. Reports suggest she died from complications related to long COVID. Georgina had been battling health issues since contracting COVID, requiring multiple hospital visits, but she had recently married and was full of plans for the future.

While honeymooning on the island of Kos with her husband, Georgina fell seriously ill and was flown to Crete for advanced care. Sadly, after five days in intensive care, she passed away. A brain hemorrhage, possibly linked to long COVID, is believed to have contributed to her death.

Georgina’s modeling career took off at age 13, and she became famous after appearing in Bon Jovi’s music video. Known for her gap-toothed smile, she graced the covers of major magazines and was adored for her positive attitude and unique look.

In recent years, Georgina transitioned to a quieter life, working as a midwife and in hospitality. After becoming a mother to her son, Sonny, she focused on him rather than modeling. She and her husband had plans to open a bar in Kos, but those dreams were tragically unfulfilled.

Georgina is remembered for her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor. She is survived by her husband and son.
