“HOW DARE YOU?”
Helga’s furious voice echoed through the phone, loud enough for Julia to hear from the kitchen. Her mother, Mrs. Hanson, had just explained her will—Helga was getting 30%, Julia the rest. Julia had cared for their parents for years, while Helga had done nothing.
Helga screamed, “MOTHER! You can’t just give everything to Julia! My twins deserve their share!”
Mrs. Hanson sighed, “Helga, Julia gave up so much for us, while you…” She didn’t need to finish.
Helga snapped, “I can’t wait for you to die. I’ll sue for my share!” And hung up.
Months later, when Mrs. Hanson passed, Helga put on a dramatic show at the funeral, pretending to mourn. But when the will was read, she shifted her focus to Julia, demanding more money.
Julia, tired of her sister’s demands, offered a “deal.” “I’m selling Mom’s house. I’ll give you 50% of the sale.”
Helga eagerly agreed, thinking she’d finally get more. But when she opened the safety deposit box, she found three one-dollar bills and a note: “That’s all you deserve.”
Helga screamed, but by then, Julia had blocked her number. She never saw her sister again.
Moral of the Story: Greed can cost you everything. Helga tried to bully her family for money and ended up with nothing. Respect your loved ones while they’re here—because once they’re gone, it’s too late.
