How to Deal With Ticks in Your Home
Ticks are microscopic bloodsucking parasites that live in forests, meadows, and gardens. They can also invade homes, especially if there are pets. If you discover a tick in your home, don’t worry. Take quick action to prevent illness transmission.
Identify The Tick.
First, determine the type of tick. Certain species are more harmful than others. If you’re unsure, take a clear snapshot and check with a medical practitioner or pest control specialist.
Next, remove the tick. Using tweezers or a tick removal instrument, hold it as near to the skin as possible and gently pull it out. Avoid squeezing or twisting the tick, as this may cause the head to break off and remain in the skin.
Dispose of The Tick
Clean the Area.
Clean the area properly with soap and water to avoid infection or disease spread. You can also sanitize the area with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide.
