15 Los Angeles Areas Under Immediate Threat amid Pacific Palisades Fire — Details

The Palisades Fire, which started on January 7, 2025, in Pacific Palisades, has burned over 1,260 acres with no containment, fueled by 60 mph winds. The fire poses a serious threat to surrounding communities, prompting Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for 15 zones, with additional evacuation warnings for 19 other areas. An evacuation center has been set up at the Westwood Recreation Center for displaced residents. Several roads, including Pacific Coast Highway, are closed. Firefighters from CAL FIRE and local departments are working to contain the blaze. Actor Steve Guttenberg has joined efforts to help with evacuations, urging residents to clear roads for emergency vehicles.
