When we aged out of the system, we scraped by in a tiny apartment, working nonstop and saving every cent. It took eight long years, but eventually, we stood inside the old café again—our café—restoring it with our own hands.
Customers came back, drawn by the warmth and love we poured into every detail. Years later, we bought back our childhood home too.
Now, with families of our own, we gather there every weekend. And before we eat, Liam always raises his glass and says, “Only in unity can a family overcome any problems and obstacles.” We kept our promise. And we know our parents would be proud.
